James had President's Day off of school and it happened to also be the day Anthony goes to work late in the day. So we decided to go visit Swampy at Jungle Adventures! The boys were really excited to see the alligators. Anthony also enjoyed reliving his glory days of when he did a summer internship there. He was very proud to tell me all about the background details of the place.
It was a little big chilly, so the alligators were pretty lethargic. They are all so big and fat and happy that it is hard to picture them as aggressive.
One of the cool things about this place is that you can buy food and feed almost every animal they have. James and Rett both loved feeding the wild peacocks that roamed around. James got brave enough to just hold out his hand and they would come and peck it right off of his palm!
They attempted to feed the alligators for our entertainment, but the alligators barely showed any interest at all. She tried to feed this guy first but he didn't even move his eyes.
So she went on to this alligator and she was sort of in the mood. It took a lot of coaxing, but the alligator finally opened its mouth for some chicken.
They have quite a few Florida panthers and they were beautiful!
We also got to feed the black bears. I was surprised at how tall they were! For some reason I always pictured bears with short stubby legs.
We went on a jungle boat ride where they took us all around the property in a pontoon boat. James loved it and Rett loved it until about 20 minutes in. Then he was done and wanted to get off, but thankfully I pulled out my phone for him to watch a show in time to stop a freak out. So I didn't get any pictures of the boat ride, but it was worth the sacrifice!

Love that place! Might have to consider this for one of our trips back home...
