Once again my pictures uploaded out of order so these are a little random :) Anthony's boss invited us and his coworkers to her house for a taco night. We had so much fun hanging out with everyone! The boys swam in their pool and watched a movie in their game room while everyone visited. At one point James came downstairs to ask me for help using their bathroom. It turns out they have a bidet and it was so complicated looking he was afraid to use it! We also got to snuggle their new puppy. So stinkin' cute!
Rett lost a tooth!
James and Rett built a fort on the floor of his room and decided to sleep in it one night. I got a picture of them reading a book on the ipad before bed.
Anthony's parents took us all to the zoo for a fun day before they headed out to Utah. We got to feed the lorikeets this time!
The zoo redid the kangaroo exhibit and now you can go inside and walk around right next to the kangaroos!
Feeding the giraffes:
Meerkats!
A volunteer offered to take our picture at the front of the zoo:
We had to take the opportunity to take a picture at another pair of wings!
Anthony offered to take in an injured fawn for a friend's granddaughter who accidentally hit it with her car. He spent an entire day calling around different rescues to try to find a place that could take him in and fix him up. We finally found a place close to the zoo, but they didn't open until after our appointment at the zoo. Our solution was to bring the deer to Anthony's parents' house while we went to the zoo and afterward take him to the rescue.
Trying to get the deer to take a bottle of goat milk:
James got so into our book I am reading him at night that he wanted to read it on the car ride:
The boys were asleep when Anthony brought the deer home, so the next morning they got to pet him for a little bit:
The chickens
insist on laying their eggs in the exact same spot at the same time, so they just sit on top of each other!
We went out only one time this season to go shrimping. We didn't catch very much, but we had a good time!
Baby turkeys!
We decided to take the boys to the outlets for some shopping and to play at Gametime. Arcades never get old!
Showing me the tiny brands they got from the store:
Blueberry picking:
Another teacher parked next to us in the parking lot and I died laughing at the sticker of the queen she has on her back window! So funny!
Rett playing with his best friends at recess:
We've started getting ready for standardized testing and everyone. hates. it.
For general conference I decided to keep doing the dry erase board of notes instead of individual bags to open for each speaker. For each speaker every person has to at some point go up and write something related to their talk. At the end of each session the boys get a surprise if they kept up with their notes.
One of the surprises was a set of big outdoor bubbles. They were so fun to play with!
Rett also got an ant farm. He has been wanting one for a long time and it was a hit.
More notes:
While the boys went easter egg hunting in the yard they found a hidden nest of real chicken eggs that the chickens have been sneaking off to.
Looking for eggs:
More bubbles:
A friend invited us to her house for an Easter party. We got there after they did the egg hunt, so I went around and put some eggs out for Rett to find:
Hammering open fossil eggs:
More notes:
Meme that I sent to some of my coworkers:
Trying to get the baby deer to drink from the bottle. It did not work.
