Color Bash (field day) this year was on the last day of school before spring break. It ended up being the last day physically at school for the rest of the school year. It was a great day to end on!
James was part of team Koala this year with his team teacher being his old kindergarten teacher (and Rett's current kindergarten teacher).
Rett was part of team troopers and his team teacher was James's reading teacher, Mrs. Robillard. She stayed up the night before tie-dyeing all of their shirts to look like camo!
I didn't have an assignment this year, so I got to float around between both of the boys teams and watch them have fun!
One of Rett's first stations was the big inflatable water slide and he thought it was too cold to go down. This is how he felt about the water slide:
Potato sack races!
James's team on the tug of war. They won all three times!
Water relay:
Trying really hard not to get wet:
Beach relay where they had to carry all the beach items down and back. They all looked so funny!
Warm enough to get wet on the inflatable slip and slide:
During the egg relay race Rett totally cheated and was cupping the egg under the spoon but he was still walking really slow like he was afraid it was going to fall!
Hanging out with a classmate on the opposing team after one of the relays:
Inflatable obstacle course:
Rett's turn for the tug of war! They lost all three times, it seemed like the other team had a lot more big kids on it.
Game face!
James's turn for the slip and slide:
Snow cone break!
Color time!! I got to spray some of the colors this year, so I got some on me. James wanted as much on his as possible and didn't want to wash it off for the longest time.
Rett barely got any color on him, so he didn't have to change afterwards. They all got to eat lunch really quickly and then reassemble in the cafeteria for the awards. There were so many teams it was hard when so many didn't win a special medal. Rett was happy with his participation award though.
James's team won 2nd for teamwork. He was very excited to get a special medal and not just a participation medal. Another fun color bash in the books!
