January 2021

Biplane wings at Deland Skydiving:

Rett having a moment because he was mad that James kept finding the wing murals first at every place we went to.

Swallow-tailed Kite Wings:

Threatening to throw a stick at me as revenge for taking his picture:

Peacock wings at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement:

We found these old time stocks for rule breakers. Rett was the first volunteer :)

I love Rett's face in the background!

Rett got his blue belt! He was getting really upset because he saw James get his a few weeks before and felt left behind. So it was a big deal when he finally advanced.

James had a cub scout activity at his den leader's house where they got to practice building campfires and cooking meals on the fire. Rett had fun playing in their yard while the boys played with fire.

James's fire:

James had a cub scout den meeting to practice some first aid:

On one of our trips to the beach, Rett discovered a dead bonnet head shark. He was very excited to find something so "rare". (He is obsessed with things being rare).

James's blue belt advancement:

One of our snakes had an abscess, so Anthony got some supplies to drain it (ew!!). James got to hold him while we prepped everything. The snake was really curious about what Anthony was doing.

James trying to get cars to stop after school and buy some veggies from the school garden:

Rocket launch at morning drop off!

Wearing my hogwarts teacher shirt!

We had a lonely turkey chick hatch, so we've been snuggling with it and keeping it company at night.

Rett had a classmate's birthday party to attend and this is where he ended up. Everyone else was playing on their backyard zipline, the bouncy house, or playset. Rett just wanted to "relax".

Cooking some foil dinners in the firepit:

James had a cub scout activity and they got to shoot bottle rockets:

We had a sunshine day at school where everyone got to wear yellow and tried to spread sunshine around the school. The kids handed out yellow flowers and lollipops to the parents when they dropped off their kids.

A dump truck came to empty the dumpster in the middle of drop-off and blocked all the cars for 5 minutes. This never happens, and the one time it did it was on the crazy sunshine day!

The teachers got sunflowers as a gift from a local florist and I was comparing my tiny sunflower to my coworker's big and beautiful flower. I should have traded flowers with her when she wasn't looking!
