James's cub scout pack and their partner boy scout troop were asked to help with the flag ceremony at the grand opening of a new park. We are so excited for this park to be open!! They put in a huge splash pad with shade sails and since it is just down the street from us I know we will be there frequently this summer!
The mayor thanking all the city workers who helped make the new park happen:
They also unveiled a street sign for the parking lot street, named after a WWII veteran that is very active on the city council. James and his friend Owen got to hold the sheet as they took it down.
After 45 minutes of talking/speeches/ceremony it was finally time to try out the playground!!
We left the new park to go to a city festival at another park. They had karate demonstrations and a dancing performance by James's school dance team (two of the girls from his class is on the team so we wanted to cheer for them)
A local bird rescue had some really cool owls on display:
James was in heaven checking out the sheriff department helicopter. He asked the officer sooooo many questions about how all the equipment worked.
They had a bubble foam pit bouncy house, so it got kind of crazy after that!
Later in the day James still wasn't tired out (!) so he convinced me to go back to play at the new splash pad.
While we were out park hopping, Anthony and Daniel went out fishing.
Later that night we decided to try out the new Dave and Busters that recently opened in Daytona. The boys loved it of course!! Its a bigger, noisier version of Chuckecheese with better food.
Anthony and Daniel had fun playing a lot of shooting games:
Mario Kart!
