Anthony's birthday fell on a Wednesday this year and since it was the big 4-0, he took the day off of work. We decided to take a midweek family trip and go to Seaworld! Tuesday night after Anthony finished work, we took Baymax to a friend's house and drove to Orlando.
We played in the pool at the hotel when we got there and then tried to get some sleep. No one ended up sleeping very well because the air conditioning in the room was so noisy! Every time it would click on it made these loud beeping sounds that would wake us up. James told us that Rett would roll around in his sleep and wake him up too. The next morning we were glad to get going for breakfast and then Seaworld!
One of the first things we saw as we walked into the park were these flamingos. At first I thought they were decorations! My mom loves flamingos so the boys were excited to take a picture for her.
Our first show was the dolphin show. We loved it! We ended up sitting in the splash area, but didn't get splashed. Rett was worried the entire time about getting wet (he didn't want to) and James was upset at the end that we didn't get wet (he really wanted to).
Penguins!! After an interactive ride you get to go into a 32 degree room with the penguins. It was so cold but so awesome to see the penguins up close.
Next was the orca show! Since the boys had opposite ideas about getting wet, we split up this time. I sat way in the back with Rett far away from the splash zone and James and Anthony sat as close to the front as they could.
I was watching the whales splash everyone and managed to get a picture of the big splash that soaked Anthony and James.
Totally soaked, but it felt good because it was so stinkin' hot!
Riding the train ride:
Petting the sting rays:
I think our favorite show was the sea lion show. It was so funny! One of the sea lions showed up in a little car.
I had to bribe him with cotton candy to get him to sit in the splash zone:
We wanted to sit together this time, so we sat in the splash zone thinking, "How big of a splash can a sea lion make?". We didn't realize that part of the show was a large hose turning on and spraying the audience!!
Visiting the sharks:
Feeding the sea lions:
Anthony and James rode a roller coaster while Rett and I looked at this neat floor aquarium.
Jellyfish!
Leafy sea dragons:
One the way home we stopped at the grocery store and got sushi for dinner and a cookie cake, Anthony's favorite.
The following Sunday we had our family celebration for Anthony's birthday, which means more cookie cake! Happy Birthday Anthony!
