One of the most exciting things about going out to Utah was getting to play in the snow! This was the boys' first time experiencing snow and Anthony and I have only really seen it once or twice. Anthony really wanted to go skiing and I knew that I wouldn't enjoy it very much, so he and Jared took off to have a ski day.
The view on the way there:
The boys were dying to play in the snow, so we walked across the street to a snow pile in a neighbor's yard and had a blast! All of the experienced Utahans probably thought we were crazy but it was so exciting!
Rett loved throwing snowballs at me. I didn't mind too much because even right in front of me he would miss most of the time :)
The favorite activity of the entire trip was when we all took a trip to the mountains to go sledding. It was quite the feat to find sledding/snow gear for everyone and to pack it all in the car with all 9 of us, but somehow we managed.
It was so much harder to walk through the snow than I imagined! I was sweating and exhausted by the time we got to the sledding hill. The elevation made it harder to breath as well, at least that is what I told myself :)
Sledding!! Rett didn't want to go down by himself, but he loved going with someone else. Once we got to the bottom, he wanted someone to hold his hand to walk back to the top. One time he went down with Dallin and Dallin didn't realize that Rett was waiting for him to hold his hand and he just walked up without him. Rett stood there screaming and crying, waiting for someone to come hold his hand. Such a stinker!
James was a beast! He wanted to go down by himself and he went over and over and over without getting tired. There were little hills that if you went over just right, you would fly in the air for a little bit. His goal was to get those as many times as he could.
Getting ready to give James a push:
The sledding crew!
Before going home, we had to build a snowman. We had never done that before, so ours didn't turn out like what you see in movies but it was a good first effort!
Rett would get stuck in the snow and would just lay there like he was sleeping. Sometimes he would fall face first and stay there, eating the snow.
Our "special" snowman!
We had to make snow angels too! We have a lot of experience with sand angels at the beach, but this was our first genuine snow angel.
The cousins had a much better snowman, but they had the home team advantage :) It was so much fun visiting our family and having new experiences. We can't wait to go back!

Just last night Teya and I were reading through your last post about coming out here and I said, "Oh, they didn't post any of the sledding pictures. Oh, she'll probably do a whole snow post next." Haha! Sledding was so much fun, I'm so glad that neighbor told me about that one sledding spot or we may never have found it! It was such a perfect time for y'all to come, not too cold, but cold enough in the mountains for snow and skiing. We loved having you guys here sooooo much, we can't wait to see you again! We are probably going to be going to FL this year, we'll update you soon on when!
